Summary

Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts。 Not fate。 Not destiny。 Or dreams that will never come true。 I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him。 Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica。 Falling in love with him won’t be my story。

Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations。 Never the poet。 Or the dreamer。 But when I see her, I forget about all that。 Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us。

The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment。 A million futures lie before us。 Which one will come true?

Úplně přesně nevím, jak to hodnotit, protože románky o prudkém vzplanutí dvou teenagerů nejsou úplně můj šálek čaje - na druhou stranu v rámci svého žánru by si to asi zase zasloužilo víc než 3 hvězdičky。 A samozřejmě překlad Sárky Foitové je brilantní, vtipný, elegantní a hlavně naprosto výstižný。 :)

4。5 I loved this book, but something about it just didn’t make it 5 stars for me。 I loved the Nirvana and Soundgarden references。 The romance was very cute 。 I loved how every life mentioned in the story somehow contributed to Natasha and Daniel being together。

I read this about a month ago (and it was a physical book lent to me by a friend - a rarity) so I pretty much forgot I ever read this and forgot to rate it until now。 It was pretty good。 A sweet romance that wasn’t exactly what I was expecting。 The interwoven chapters told from the perspectives of random side characters or the chapter detailing the history of something were my favorite。 It was just so smart。 For example, the main characters would meet a weird security guard, and then the next ch I read this about a month ago (and it was a physical book lent to me by a friend - a rarity) so I pretty much forgot I ever read this and forgot to rate it until now。 It was pretty good。 A sweet romance that wasn’t exactly what I was expecting。 The interwoven chapters told from the perspectives of random side characters or the chapter detailing the history of something were my favorite。 It was just so smart。 For example, the main characters would meet a weird security guard, and then the next chapter is from the perspective of the security guard, explaining how she’s contemplating killing herself。 It’s brilliant。 The ending was not at all what I thought would happen but it was hopeful。 Overall, I would definitely recommend it, though it’s probably not one of my favorites。 。。。more

3。5 stars。 The story was cheesy, but I wanted the characters to have a “happily ever after”。 The ending brought this rating up。 It reminded me that I had a day like that and I want to get that feeling back。 I think the movie edition book ruined this some for me。 The people on the cover are very obviously not in high school and do not resemble the main “looks” of the characters in the book。

wow, what a story。 i have always loved nicola yoon’s writing and this book just made me fall for it all over again! the mixture of loss and heartbreak, laughter and companionship; this book is everything i thought it was going to be and more。 it only took me a couple of hours to finish!

This was really great!!Natasha and Daniel were so perfect together。 And Daniel。。。I really like him! He is so adorable with all those poetic skills and passion and long hair。 I like the fact that this book is not just about romance but also about dreams and family and racism and culture and bunch of many other important things。 The way how minute things led them to meet and then fall in love was so well written。And the ending, it was PERFECT!!

Wow 👏This made me cry 😭 The writing is lyrical yet not overhanded and I liked how all the little parts of the story around Natasha and Daniel blended in together with theirs。 At the start I wondered how Nicola would write a good (believable) love story that occurs over one day but damn I had butterflies I'm my chest。 Wow 👏This made me cry 😭 The writing is lyrical yet not overhanded and I liked how all the little parts of the story around Natasha and Daniel blended in together with theirs。 At the start I wondered how Nicola would write a good (believable) love story that occurs over one day but damn I had butterflies I'm my chest。 。。。more

I freaking love this book。 It is so perfect and just amazing。 Nicola Yoon is one of the best authors to exist。 Every single turning point and moment in this book had so much significance。

I love slow motion romances and this is the exact opposite。 This whole book happens IN ONE DAY。

This book is about a realistic data science dreamer named Natasha, who's world collides with a polar opposite boy named Daniel whose head is lost in poetry and make believe。 Natasha finds that she is being deported back to Jamaica, the day she meets daniel。 She warns Daniel that she cannot make much small talk, due to an "appointment"。 This doesn't stop daniel from convincing her that she is the one。 That the Universe brought them together, on a day they really shouldn't have met, and yet did。 T This book is about a realistic data science dreamer named Natasha, who's world collides with a polar opposite boy named Daniel whose head is lost in poetry and make believe。 Natasha finds that she is being deported back to Jamaica, the day she meets daniel。 She warns Daniel that she cannot make much small talk, due to an "appointment"。 This doesn't stop daniel from convincing her that she is the one。 That the Universe brought them together, on a day they really shouldn't have met, and yet did。 The story goes through the day of little adventures that brings them to reality and love, but also fear of whether the universe will truly make sense, and let Natasha stay in America。I loved this book more than I expected。 I myself am a person of realistic grenes, but this book truly got me hooked。 5/5 recommend! 。。。more

This book was absolutely amazing。 The writing is pretty casual, which makes it an easy read。 Luckily, I read this book when I had plenty of time because I could, quite literally, not put it down; I finished the entire book within two days。 This book switches between perspectives, which I found really intriguing。 This format so often leads to a confusing layout of a story, however Nicola Yoon did it flawlessly。 I thought the entire book was well written and I would definitely recommend it to anyo This book was absolutely amazing。 The writing is pretty casual, which makes it an easy read。 Luckily, I read this book when I had plenty of time because I could, quite literally, not put it down; I finished the entire book within two days。 This book switches between perspectives, which I found really intriguing。 This format so often leads to a confusing layout of a story, however Nicola Yoon did it flawlessly。 I thought the entire book was well written and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, quick, romance read。 。。。more

。。。more

3。5 - Honestly I cried when I got to the last pageI loved the glimpses of people's lives we received through this book and that was probably my favorite part。 The different issues that were touched throughout this book were *chef's kiss* and I think I enjoyed that more than the romance which I wasn't 100% feeling as I'm not a huge love at first sight person。I'm going to try to watch the movie online, the story is really sticking to me and I would love to watch it play out 3。5 - Honestly I cried when I got to the last pageI loved the glimpses of people's lives we received through this book and that was probably my favorite part。 The different issues that were touched throughout this book were *chef's kiss* and I think I enjoyed that more than the romance which I wasn't 100% feeling as I'm not a huge love at first sight person。I'm going to try to watch the movie online, the story is really sticking to me and I would love to watch it play out 。。。more

The pros of this book are the ending。 The ending is what made me add another star to the rating。The cons are that the book had a slow start。 It got interesting towards the middle of the book all the way to the end。 The changing of the point of view threw me off and confused me at first。 I started to understand the switching and I got used to it during the second part of the book。 I did feel like there was a lot of switching and sometimes the point of view did change too fast。Overall, I enjoyed t The pros of this book are the ending。 The ending is what made me add another star to the rating。The cons are that the book had a slow start。 It got interesting towards the middle of the book all the way to the end。 The changing of the point of view threw me off and confused me at first。 I started to understand the switching and I got used to it during the second part of the book。 I did feel like there was a lot of switching and sometimes the point of view did change too fast。Overall, I enjoyed the book, and I am ready to reread this book! 。。。more

Fun read, but a bit too gooey for my taste。 Not that I don't believe in a form of love at first sight, but this was a bit too much。 Liked the ending though, the fast-forward was a nice touch。 Fun read, but a bit too gooey for my taste。 Not that I don't believe in a form of love at first sight, but this was a bit too much。 Liked the ending though, the fast-forward was a nice touch。 。。。more

3。5 stars rounded up。 I went back and forth between three and four stars with this one。 I liked Natasha's story: Her deportation dilemma & family issues。 But the insta-romance was too cheesy, and Daniel's character was a little too much of a hopeless romantic for me to care about his feelings。 And despite them having some cute moments, I don't think Him and Natasha would last in an actual relationship。 I wasn't convinced that their chemistry outweighed their differences。 I do like that Natasha w 3。5 stars rounded up。 I went back and forth between three and four stars with this one。 I liked Natasha's story: Her deportation dilemma & family issues。 But the insta-romance was too cheesy, and Daniel's character was a little too much of a hopeless romantic for me to care about his feelings。 And despite them having some cute moments, I don't think Him and Natasha would last in an actual relationship。 I wasn't convinced that their chemistry outweighed their differences。 I do like that Natasha was a logical realist。 She wasn't immediately swayed by his charm。 She was annoyed by his crappy poetry & even called out his silly idea of falling in love with someone you barely know。 I also liked the little side pov's from other characters they interacted with。 (Except that stupid lawyer and his assistant。 I almost knocked off a star for that。 🙄) the realistic open-ending was very fitting。 Daniel's family issues felt a little flat compared to Natasha's and I never felt like he had any real problems。 His beef with his brother felt unresolved。 (I still want to know what really happened at Harvard??)I feel like I would have loved this book 10 years ago when I was naive about love and didn't know any better lol。 I just wish Daniel wasn't so cringe。 Then maybe this could've been a five-star read。 Maybe。  。。。more
